Basics About the Kia Sorento

As a mid-size crossover SUV, this car packs in a lot of features for an unbeatable price. All Sorento models come standardized with blindspot monitoring and cross-traffic alert from the rear. While there are ten trims available, we’re going to focus on just a few of them.

The Sorento LX

The most basic of the trims, the LX still delivers on performance at a great deal. With up to 75.5 cubic feet of cargo space available and up to 2,000 pounds of towing capacity, this trim has all your bases covered. It also has an HD touchscreen display and Bluetooth audio capabilities for both Apple and Android phones.

The Sorento EX Hybrid

This trim comes with everything the LX has, plus a bit more. It comes standard with the turbocharged 1.6 -liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that is more powerful than the non-hybrid version. The interior also gets a bit of an upgrade, with heated front seats, leatherette material, and an overall trendier look with 17-inch wheels and black accents on the exterior.

The Sorento SX-Prestige PHEV

The most luxurious of the trims, the PHEV comes with everything the previous trims have and more. For this trim, they include a 115-volt invertor, retractable rear-door sunshades, and even a 32-mile range for electric-powered driving. It also comes with all-wheel drive as a standard and 2-way power lumbar seats in the front. This trim will tackle any adventure you have in style.

Safety Ratings and Features

We take the safety of our vehicles very seriously and know that the Sorento delivers on that front as well. With an overall safety rating of 4 stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, you can add additional safety features if you’d like. However, the Sorento comes standard with forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking. You also have standard access to lane-keeping assistance and lane-departure warning.

Overall Performance

The Sorento comes with the power of choice: by having a variety of trims, you can have a driving experience tailored to you. It has two powertrain options available, and the ability to choose between four and two-wheel drive. It also has impressive fuel economy for a midsize SUV at an average of 26.5 mpg.
