5 Fun Fall Activities You Can Drive to From Mentor, OH

1. Mysteries of the Manor Trail Hayride

Have a ball with your family this fall and go on a not-too-spooky golf cart hayride at night through the 34-acre Wildwood Cultural Center and Park at 7645 Little Mountain Road in Mentor. Climb the hay pyramid, play games, participate in the costume contest, paint pumpkins, dance, and hunt for rotten Easter Eggs. After all the fun activities, get cozy around the bonfire, where everyone can fill their tummies with yummy donuts and apple cider.

2. Family Scarecrow Contest

The yearly Family Scarecrow Contest, also held at Wildwood Cultural Center and Park, is a much-anticipated event in Mentor and great fun for the whole family. Pick up your wood, nails, and straw scarecrow kit at Wildwood in September and get creative making your own unique family scarecrow. Wildwood will display your scarecrow in October, and prizes will be handed out to all the winning entries.

3. Howl-O-Ween for Dogs

Halloween is not just for ghosts and goblins and scary things that go bump in the night. In Mentor, every dog gets its day at the annual Howl-O-Ween for Dogs held at the Mentor Dog Park at 6647 Hopkins Road around the middle of October each year.

Dress your four-legged friend in a spooky costume and head to the park in the late afternoon for a howling Halloween party. Join the doggy costume parade, tail wag with other partygoers, and go tick or dog-treating with your pup.

4. Lake Metroparks Farmpark Corn and Pumpkin Festival

Take a short five-mile drive to Kirtland to join in the festivities at the Lake Metroparks Farmpark Corn and Pumpkin Festival at 8800 Euclid Chardon Road, held over weekends in October every year. The festival offers great hands-on learning experiences and fall fun for everyone. Tackle the 3-acre corn maze, make corn husk dolls, paint pumpkins, learn how to milk cows, tend horses, and sip cups of delicious corn and pumpkin soup.

5. Bunnyville Fall Fun

Pile the kids in the car and head to Aurora, 35 miles away, for good old-fashioned family fall fun. Bunnyville at 945 Bartlett Road is excellent for finding the best pumpkin in the patch. The farm also hosts its famous Party at the Barn annually throughout September. Your kids will love meeting and feeding the farm animals, riding the beautiful ponies, and cuddling the cute fluffy bunnies running freely in their spacious enclosed area.
