  • If no Social Security card: bring passport or Visa + driver’s license
  • Insurance card (digital or physical)
  • Two most recent pay stubs or other proof of income (dated within 30 days)
  • If contract/gig worker: 1099s or W-2s
  • Proof of residence (current bill; not past due; not a shutoff notice)

  • If trade must be towed: VIN and mileage
  • Special finance references list (name, address, phone; must not live with you)

Down Payment, ID & Insurance

Down payment: Know in advance how much you plan to put down. More is always better—it reduces your monthly payment and interest, especially if your credit score isn’t at the top of the range.

Driver’s license: Please bring a valid driver’s license. If you live in a state other than Ohio, we will also need your Social Security card. If you do not have a Social Security card, bring your passport or Visa and your driver’s license.

Insurance card: Bring an up-to-date insurance card (digital or physical) so we can verify coverage before you drive home.

Income & Proof of Residence

Proof of income: Bring your two most recent pay stubs or other proof of income. These must be dated within 30 days. If you are a contract or gig worker, please bring your 1099s or W-2s.

Proof of residence: A recent bill is fine, but it must not be past due and not a shutoff notice. Those understandably make banks nervous.

If you know that you will be seeking special finance, it’s a good idea to have a list of references: name, address, and phone number. Your references don’t count if they live with you.

If You Have a Trade-In

Title: Bring the title for your trade-in. If you are still making payments on it, we need to know which bank or lender you pay.

Towed-in vehicles: If it must be towed in, we will need its VIN number and current mileage.
