What the Critics Say

““Its bolder bodywork is also dimensionally bigger than before, which translates to more cargo space and a roomier interior. Inside, the new Sportage is both attractive and packed with tech that includes a massive dash-mounted screen.” -- The Car Connection

"“Though we're only judging by photos at this point, the redesigned interior has the potential to be another major highlight for the new Sportage. The available digital instrument panel and wide center touchscreen are joined in one housing unit, giving the impression of a single uninterrupted screen. It's a similar layout to the Sorento's, which we think is one of that vehicle's interior highlights.” -- Edmunds

Kia Sportage Performance

Performance & Capability

Engineered with the same underpinnings as the Kia N3 platform found on the Sorento, the all-new Kia Sportage delivers a robust foundation to complement its enhanced performance capabilities. This platform is responsible for reducing road, wind, and engine noise for a more serene ride thanks to the extensive use of high-strength steel. Standard power comes in the form of a 2.5-liter I4 producing 187 horsepower and comes paired with a responsive 8-speed automatic transmission. An available Active AWD system features an electro-hydraulic coupling with center-locking differential to automatically distribute power between the front and rear wheels. Sportage AWD models also benefit from an extra 1.5 inches of ground clearance to help you conquer any obstacle standing in your way. Sportage X-Pro models come equipped with B.F. Goodrich all-terrain tires along with multi-terrain drive models (Normal, Sport, Smart, and Snow) for even greater capability in slippery conditions.

Kia Sportage Interior

Tech-Focused Interior

Thanks to its expanded dimensions, the ergonomic interior of the Kia Sportage is now more spacious than ever before. As a result, the Sportage has a tremendous advantage over the competition by offering best-in-class rear legroom and rear cargo space. Taking inspiration from modern architecture and furniture, the interior of the Sportage approaches near-luxury levels of comfort and refinement. One feature that’s especially remarkable is the available dual panoramic curved display that includes twin 12.3 displays, one for the gauge cluster and one for infotainment. Standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard across the Sportage model lineup as well, helping you stay connected while on the go. Other available interior amenities include a Harman Kardon premium audio system, wireless charging pad, and power rear liftgate to help simplify access to the cargo area.

Kia Sportage Rear View Monitor

Cutting-Edge Safety

A comprehensive collection of active driver-assist features helps to illustrate how committed the Kia Sportage is to protecting drivers and their loved ones. Every Sportage comes standard with 8 Active Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These include Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA), Rear View Monitor (RVM), and more. Higher trim levels are offered with even more significant safety innovations. Some highlights include Smart Cruise Control (SCC), Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), and Highway Driving Assist (HDA) that’s able to automatically adjust your speed based on federal highway speed information.
