2022 Kia Stinger
The Kia Stinger is a big, bold sports sedan. Its premium look and upscale feel give other European sports sedans a run for their money, and its power and performance make it ideal for sports-car enthusiasts. For the 2022 model year, the Stinger gets a new turbo engine, and the existing twin-turbo gets more power. The Stinger also has some styling updates for the new year, including upgraded materials in the cabin and updated exterior lighting.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Stinger is the GT-Line. It comes with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The optional Sun and Sound Package adds a sunroof, or you can bump up to the GT1, where it comes standard. This trim also upgrades to 19-inch wheels and adds Brembo brakes. The GT2 builds on these features with adaptive suspension, upgraded LED headlights, and auto-dimming side mirrors. It also has a power-opening trunk lid. The limited-edition Scorpion is new for 2022 and comes with a rear spoiler, black exterior trim, and black 19-inch wheels.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the Stinger GT-Line is a 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder with 300 horsepower. The GT1 and GT2 both get a 3.3-liter turbo V-6 with 368 horsepower, and no matter which engine you have, it uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is an option.
Performance
The top speed for the GT-line is 130 mph, and the GT1 and GT2 will hit 167 mph. All trims come with paddle shifters, and the GTs also have launch control. This sports sedan serves as a comfortable commuter during the week, but it will also give you a thrill behind the wheel when you want it to. Even though it has a long wheelbase, it also has a tight turning radius, making it easy to maneuver around town.
Interior
The Stinger's cabin gives upscale luxury vehicles a run for their money with high-quality materials and a sleek design. It has room for up to five, with standard leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver's seat. The GT1 adds a power-adjustable passenger seat and LED interior lighting, and the GT2 has premium leather upholstery, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, and driver's seat memory settings.
There's lots of modern tech in the Stinger's cabin. It comes standard with a 10.25-inch touch screen, wireless charging, a nine-speaker stereo, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can get a 15-speaker Harman Kardon stereo with the Sun and Sound Package for the GT-Line or choose the GT2, where it comes standard.
Safety Features
Every 2022 Kia Stinger comes standard with a long list of driver aids. These start with a navigation-based adaptive cruise control system, forward collision warning with mitigation, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking sensors. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard, along with a rear safe-exit system for back-seat passengers. A surround-view camera system comes in the GT2, and this model also gets a head-up display.
All out of state customers will be subjected to a market adjustment.
