2022 Kia K5

The 2022 K5 comes in seven trim levels: the LX, LXS FWD, LXS AWD, GT-Line FWD, GT-Line AWD, EX, and GT. The exterior has a smooth, aerodynamic look, artistically shaped automatic headlights, daytime running lights, a wide black grille, and 16-inch wheels. You'll also get tinted glass, manually folding heated side mirrors, an upper and lower grille, a sculpted hood with Kia lettering at the front, sculpted sides, and LED taillights that stretch across the trunk. You can add a panoramic power sunroof, turn signals for the side mirrors, a spoiler, and 18- or 19-inch wheels. Fog lights and a trunk that can open automatically when you approach it with the key fob are available as well. Several colors are optional, including Sapphire Blue, Everlasting Silver, Crystal Beige, Ebony Black, Passion Red, Wolf Gray, Gravity Gray, and Glacial White Pearl.

You can choose a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that generates 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. You can also get a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder motor that gives 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. Both of these options have an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The K5 can carry up to 1,126 pounds, and it comes with outstanding acceleration, maneuverable power steering, and an independent suspension. You can select Eco, Smart, Sport, Sport Plus, Comfort, or Custom driving modes. Other options include all-wheel drive, a sport-tuned suspension, paddle shifters for the steering wheel, and an Active Sound Design system to change engine sounds when you change driving modes. You can travel up to 29 mpg in urban areas and 38 mpg on the highway. With the 2.5-liter engine, you can go 24 mpg in town and 32 mpg on the highway. This car can get to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds.

Standard interior features include a day-night rearview mirror, cruise control, convenient steering wheel controls, keyless entry, one-touch power windows, a 12-volt DC power outlet, and automatic door locks. You'll also get Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice recognition, a six-speaker sound system, a 4.2-inch driver information center, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touch screen, and two USB ports. You can add a heated sports leather steering wheel with metallic accents, piano black and chrome interior accents, leather door trim, and heated eight-way power-adjustable seats with lumbar settings. A 10.25-inch touch screen, three more USB ports, SiriusXM satellite radio, push-button start, navigation, remote start, wireless charging, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system are available as well. You can also choose a 10-way power driver's seat with memory and lumbar settings, dark wood accents, a rear armrest with two cup holders, folding rear seats, and heated and cooled front seats.

Safety features include forward collision mitigation, driver awareness monitoring, a rearview camera, parking assistance, and nine air bags. You can add rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot collision warning.
