Powertrains
The standard 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine of the Sorento generates 191 horsepower. A more powerful version of the same engine delivers an output of 281 horsepower. You can also opt for a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain, which both use a turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The Santa Fe features the same gas engines as the Sorento. In addition, its hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains are also equipped with a turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine.
Safety Features
Both vehicles are impressively equipped as far as safety features are concerned. Standard features include lane-following assist, smart cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and driver attention warning. Rear occupant alert, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, and rear-cross traffic alert also come standard on both vehicles. While both the Sorento and Hyundai offer multiple engines and an abundance of driver-assist features, the Sorento features an extra row of seats without sacrificing comfort.
